Learning 2gether
Call for Participation
You are welcome / encouraged to participate in our "Sunday Speedgeek" series by contibuting your expertise toward helping us all learn together.
Although it's called "Sunday Speekgeek" the events don't necessarily have to take place on Sunday, and we have evolved beyond the Speed Geeking concept (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_geeking) into allowing an hour for presentation and discussion.
If you can give a session of any length (5 to 50 minutes or longer) we would appreciate it very much. Please volunteer by contacting the event coordinator, Vance Stevens, at vancestev@grouply.com (conveniently redirects)
About these events
These events are part of a participant-driven professional development series planned as a part of the ongoing (since 1998) Webheads in Action professional development series, most recently with the involvement of the TESOL Arabia EdTech SIG.
Normally the events take place at 13:00 GMT each Sunday (5 pm in UAE). But many participants start at noon GMT (4 p.m. in the UAE) when teaching practitioners gather at http://tappedin.org for informal text chat. At 13:00 GMT (5 p.m. in the UAE) we move to the presentation venue
For the presentation itself, we often meet in Elluminate at http://tinyurl.com/y3eh
This Elluminate room has been generously provided to us by Learning Times, and prior registration is required (non-intrusive, takes only minutes).
We also have available Adobe Connect at http://connect.pi.ac.ae/taedtech
This is thanks to the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi
Presenters are welcome to nominate any online venue they wish and participants will go there.
There is a Google Calendar showing these events
